The architectural style of Victorian home design creates lots of nooks and and crannies on the interior. At Dreams of Yesteryear, no corner has been forgotten, so even the stairs and hallways display antiques and period decor.
Up the Stairs and Down the Hallway
The love of Victorian style is evident in every room of this home. But it's not enough that the destination is worth the trip. The journey is beautiful too. The stairs and hallways you take as you navigate this three-story house are just as richly appointed as the rooms themselves.
Here's a peek at what you may see around the next corner at Dreams of Yesteryear.
The second floor hallway narrows as you enter the servant's quarters.
The original front porch was inclosed years ago to create a foyer. It turns out to be the perfect spot for displaying recognitions and certificates for the historic home.
The stair-step windows on the way to the second floor are a unique feature of the house.
The second floor hallway includes some professional portraits of Bill and Bonnie's children.
Secret Hallway - when the grandchildren disappear we always know where to find them: on the third floor in the back hallway where an ecclectic mix of toys and other antique items are on display.
The back stairway to the third floor is the original access to the attic ballroom. An easier to access stairway was added (see picture on the top of this page).
A trompe l'oeil painting in the back entranceway makes the otherwise dark stairwell interesting and bright.
